Looking for something to do during winter break, the kids of a small Quebec village decide to have a massive snowball fight. After first disagreeing over the rules and some of the kids deciding not to participate, Luc, on the advice of his best friend, Jacques, decides to force the issue and goads the other team into participating under the leadership of Sophie. The children decide that the winning team is whichever one occupies the massive, elaborate snow fort at the end of the holiday.
Tensions between the two teams begin to escalate quickly, as both teams are determined to attack and defend to the bitter end. After days of battle, the conflict escalates to a fever pitch on the final day, with a tragic result that no one could have predicted.
