The beloved Aquarium Lantern Festival returns with a dazzling blend of last year’s favorites and all-new, breathtaking lanterns. Discover the outdoor Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza in a whole new light as larger-than-life, nature-inspired lanterns illuminate the night sky and spark your imagination.

We’re excited to announce that the Aquarium Lantern Festival is back! This immersive light festival takes place outside on the Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza and features stunning, larger-than-life light-up displays.
What to Expect
- Giant animal and nature-shaped lanterns that glow at night.
- A mix of new lanterns and returning favorites from last year, like the crowd-favorite octopus.
- Tickets include access to the inside of the Aquarium every night.
- Aramark will sell hot chocolate and light concessions on the plaza.
Event Dates & Hours
- November 7 – January 10
- Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.
- 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Inside of the Aquarium closes at 9:00 p.m.
- The Aquarium will close at 5:00 p.m. daily (including Mondays) to prepare for the festival’s opening at 5:30 p.m.
