First Meeting of Four Weeks in the Life of a Goat

Like us, goats are social creatures. They form herds from a very young age that last their lifetime and affect their happiness and health. They are playful, loving animals with personalities of their own, ranging from stubborn and sassy to sweet and caring. Working with goats has been an important aspect of learning the language of the land, giving the opportunity to work with an animal in a common language that we both can understand, but have often forgotten. For four weeks, become part of a goat's life. Each person will take on the care of one goat, who they will be responsible for working with for the four weeks. We will be covering a range of topics, and also giving room for quiet space to work and learn alongside the goats.

You will learn to groom, feed, administer maintenance care and train and walk on a halter. We'll also go deeper into these special animals social lives, learning about herd dynamics, interactive herd play and socialization. We'll talk about how to ensure they are happy and comfortable, covering topics like installing warm bedding and creating interactive playsets for their bodies and minds.
This program is not necessarily a lesson in caring for goats, though you will learn a lot about that. This is an opportunity to get in touch with yourself, a chance to see yourself, and the goat that you come to know, in a different way.
We will be meeting every Saturday morning for four weeks from 9 am - 10 am. If you are interested in bringing someone you know along with you, you can purchase the companion pass, a $25 add-on for a second person.
*Ages 6-100 welcome

***No prior experience with goats is necessary. This is a perfect program for any level.
