Unleash your creativity in this fun-filled stop-motion animation class designed for young artists! Working as a team, students will learn how to combine 2d moving puppets with large background scenery drawings to create moving pictures. During this week, we will be creating a visual representation of Camille Saint-Saëns’s masterpiece: “Carnival of the Animals”. By the end of the camp, these kids will have a complete animated short film they created from start to finish!

Let’s get centered! In this camp teens will learn the basics of throwing on a potter’s wheel. Instruction and guidance will be given on centering a mound of clay, dropping the hole and raising the roof. oops, we mean the walls… of a pot! Students can expect to make an assortment of pottery projects such as small plates, cups, and bowls. If a student decides they just prefer sculpting by hand…. Well, we will accommodate them too!

Let’s explore the history of bookmaking while creating a variety of tiny books along the way. We’ll experiment with different binding techniques, make our own paper and covers, and head home with new little spaces to record our thoughts, sketches, and stories.
